This upcoming Fall is already feeling like it will be filled with unknowns and uncertainty, both within our families and in our community. We are more isolated than EVER before. We are isolated from our friends and family and we may become more isolated as we deepen into the Fall.
A circle of womxn are coming together for a 12-week series Winter 2021! We would love to see you join us in Becoming Grounded.
This 12-week series includes; Yoga, Connection, Art, Meditation, Mindfulness, Sisterhood and so much more.
Isolation during COVID feels familiar to me. When I was on bedrest with my daughter for 6 months, I was isolated and alone and didn't know how to bring myself out of it. The thing was I had a end date, her birth. When she was born, I was SO much better, emotionally and physically. My anxiety was relieved because she was healthy and I was grateful I could get out of my isolation.
However, right now, we have NO IDEA when this isolation will end. We collectively have so much going on in our world. Our minds are so busy with so much information and we are SO isolated. We are all wound up in the 'what if' and uncertainty.
Gathering in circle gives us space to connect, share and hold one another in sisterhood and confidentiality. The offerings provided in Becoming Grounded is the medicine that has lifted me up time and time again. When I am lonely, isolated, depressed or anxious, these tools are what bring me home to myself. This is why I have bundled them together for you in this 12 week series.
I'm going to give you tools to become grounded. I will give you the tools to put on your own oxygen mask first so that you can be there for your family. I am going to lead you into understanding what is happening for you RIGHT NOW so that you can become rooted and grounded.
Becoming grounded is not an option, it is a necessity as we dive into uncertainty.
Many of us don't take time for ourselves under 'normal' circumstances. Right now, we may say we can't take this time away from our families because this time is already so hard for us to navigate.
I say if not now, then WHEN?
When we are on the airplane prepping for takeoff we learn that putting on our own oxygen mask during an emergency is PRIORITY. Then put the mask on of the others around you. I will teach you the skills (grounding exercises, meditation, ritual, expressive art, activities for connection) that you can pass to your family. You CAN put your mask on first. This will allow you to put the mask on your loved ones.
You are the leader in your family. Show up for yourself! I challenge you to care for yourself as much as you care for your children, partner, pets, home, etc. By joining these 12 weeks of self-care, you and your family will thank you.
